Red & White :: Happy Belated 48th Birthday, Singapore!

Hi everyone! It's the weekend again! It was Singapore's National Day yesterday and I always make it a point to dress in patriotic colours every year on this special day. =) This year, I was lucky enough to be off and got to cook for my baby sis and Tristan while watching bits of the National Day Parade (I tear every year while watching without fail. =X).

Since I was off, I didn't get to wear my National Day OOTD and decided to make it up today! =D Better late than never, right?

This year, I opted for a simple all white outfit with some statement red heels! These red Zara heels from their 2013 Cruise collection are so amazingly comfy that I actually broke my ban! =(  I picked up the exact same style of heels in a nudish tan colour earlier today. =( I was doing so well for the past week and did not shop at all! *sighs*

It's okay!! I have decided to continue on my no shopping ban till the 25th of August as per my initial plan. And... I will succeed this second time around! YES!

I love this Bershka sheer silky top so much that I have it in 3 different colours. =P I snagged them all during the recent Great Singapore Sale(GSS) and they were an absolute steal. I love love love good bargains!

.. Lily of the Valley ..

Happy National Day, fellow Singaporeans! And Happy Friday to the rest of the world! =D  This was an outfit from last week but I have been suffering from very bad backaches and tummy discomfort, and really could not work up enough energy to post these overdue pics.

We just sent Mom, Dad and Fur to the airport and they are once again headed for Daddy's favourite holiday destination in the world - Japan! And mine too!!! <3  In the coming week, I swear I have the best working schedule ever. I am off every alternate day. Lalalalalalalalalalalala! Take that man!!! =D =D

I have been especially loving these recent series of shorts from H&M and have got almost all the different prints. It's really value for money and best of all, they don't require any alterations!

For this OOTD, I picked out this Chloe cotton top that reminds me of a lily. I love how it complements these shorts and bring a tad more to the white/ blue floral prints.

If there's one thing I hate about this top, it's the fact that it creases so easily! Every time I bend or sit, I swear there are new creases!!! Arrrrrrrrghhhhhh. It drove me nuts that day! >___ <

Top - Chloe (old)(similar here, here and here)
Shorts - H&M (no more in stock)(similar here)
Purse - Mulberry Mini Taylor
Heels - ASOS Hometown (found here // similar here)

Thank you for dropping by!! And to my fellow Singaporeans, enjoy your long weekend! XOXO!! ^. ^*

Minnie Mouse Bow Belt // Self-alteration to a different style

Original look of the H&M bow belt (It's still available at ION H&M for SGD5)

Hi guys! I hope your week has been going good so far! =D

So... I love this belt so much that I got 3 of them. Yes, you read it right. THREE. The very first piece was picked up when Jo and I went for lunch together. I picked up another piece for Q (I know her too well. She's eternally grateful I'm not a man. LOL! Private joke.). The first piece was purchased on sale for SGD10 each. Q and I were already very pleased with paying only SGD10 for a bow belt that we have been looking to complete our poofy skirts OOTDs.

As I looked at my new belt and started coming up with outfits, I realized that I wanted 2 different kind of bows. The first would remain the way it looked originally and the second would be a bow just the way I want it. I popped by H&M again with Q and we found the very same belt going for SGD5 now! Score!!!

Let me share with you the 5 minutes procedure I went through to get my belt looking like how it does in the picture below.

Step 1: Slide the middle 'tab' to one side (either left or right does not matter). It is NOT sewn down/ fixed.

Step 2: Lift the topmost 'flap'. The piece that is directly above the diagonal 'flap'. The stitches holding the diagonal 'flap' should be seen as the picture above.

Step 3: Using a fabric scissors or a small pair of scissors, slowly snip away at the stitches holding the diagonal 'flap' down.

Step 4: Continue cutting away the stitches patiently. Slow and steady does it.

Step 5: As you reach the end of the row of stitches, the entire diagonal 'flap' should come off in a whole piece.

Step 6: Push the lifted topmost 'flap' back to it's original position. And slide the middle 'tab' to the other side (If you started by sliding to the left, slide it to the right and vice versa).

The above picture should be how your belt look like thus far.

Step 7: Repeat the same steps from Step 2 to Step 5.

Step 8 and Final Step: Remove the diagonal 'flap' as shown in Step 6, and slide the middle 'tab' back to it's original position.

There you have it! My oversized, simple and pretty bow belt! =D =D

**For those of you who loved this belt in my Mickey's Girl OOTD, I hope you found this easy tutorial helpful! Special thanks to Q for taking the pictures. =))

: Mickey's Girl : Red White Polka Dots & A Big Bow

Hello everyone! Today was another Minnie Mouse outfit. =D I wore this blouse previously and wanted to share a different look showcasing the same blouse. On another note, I have decided that I'm officially going on a clothes and shoes ban. No more buying till the 25th of August. NO BUYING AT ALL. I NEED this ban. =/

I will be shopping in my wardrobe for the next 25 days, exploring new combinations and discovering previous oldies but lovelies. Courage, Serene!!

This outfit came about because I wanted to wear this bow belt that I picked up earlier this month on sale at H&M for SGD5! If you are a frequent shopper at H&M and have never seen this belt, don't worry... your memory is still working. I did some self-alteration on the original belt before it became what it is now! =P

I'll try to get some pictures showing how the original belt came to look like how it does now. I will be doing up Q's belt for her tomorrow and I will nicely ask if she would be kind enough to click some pictures for the blog! =)

Tristan got this purse for me a little while back for our 1st wedding anniversary. <3 I really treasure this little beauty and just kept looking at it sitting in my closet, and could not bear to use it for the very first time. I actually packed and unpacked it twice before, on 2 separate days, for 2 different outfits, before finally putting back it's stuffings and replacing it on it's shelf. =X  What's wrong with me??? =O

One thing I possess in abundance would be my vivid imagination. Too much of it, I must say. Hahahahahahah!!!

My Minnie Mouse look began with my black bow belt! My white on red polka dot peplum top came next, followed with my pompom bubble skirt. I kept imagining Minnie's ears when I look at my full rounded skirt! =X  Can you see them too?

A close up of my 1st wedding anniversary present from the sweetest hubby in the entire universe! <3<3  You can't really see it but we got it hotstamped with my initials just like my Fendi 2Jours bag. =))

Don't you just love the simplicity and beauty of the Alma BB? I know Allison and Q do too! We need a family pic of these beauties soon.=D

:: Jungle Sprite ::

Hi everyone! =D I felt so light and happy in this outfit today! Just like a wood nymph! I just needed a pair of wings and some fairy dust. =D =D

I felt so feminine and carefree in my silky Mango turquoise maxi skirt! I just had to throw in a leopard print belt and a woody coloured purse into the mix. Subconsciously, I brought myself into a forest and became a little jungle sprite!

I really really love how putting on a different OOTD make me feel like a brand new woman every day. =)

"What's in my Bag?" :: Coach Court Bag

Hello!! =D  The star of today's "What's in my Bag?" post would be my Coach Court Bag in Mahogany with the Coach Basic Bag's strap attached! It's original strap is also photographed just beside the bag.

I love how I can interchange both the straps and how it gives my Court bag an entirely different feel. The thinner strap gives off a feminine touch while the thicker strap exudes a slightly more rugged appeal. =)

As you all know, I'm a major bag lover but what you don't know is how I pamper each and every one of my bag equally. Whether its a premier or contemporary brand bag, it gets equal treatment and love from me! <3

To ensure the longevity of all my purses, I make sure not to overstuff any of them. Overstuffing any leather purse would just result in the leather getting stretched out of shape. That means that my smaller wallets and cardholders go into smaller bags and clutches, while my long wallets are used when I'm toting my larger bags!

Here's what I had with me yesterday!

From top left in clockwise

1. Louis Vuitton Mini Pochette Accessoires in Monogram (cosmetics pouch)

2. Prada Saffiano Leather Short Bi-fold clasp slim wallet in Ametista

3. Coach Mini Skinny in Signature Fabric (keys holder)

4. Foot Glide Anti-Blister stick (all ladies NEED one!! It's a lifesaver.)

5. M)phosis tissue pouch

6. Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoyed the post! XOXOXO!!! =D =D

.: Retroville :.

Hey there! =D I hope you are having a good week! Since some of my favourite brands are bringing back polka dots, I decided to follow suit. Subconsciously, I always inject some sort of femininity in my daily outfits, even when I'm in torn boyfriend jeans, I find myself reaching for a sparkly top and some pointy heels! =)

For today's OOTD, I decided on my puffy sleeves mustard yellow top that my Mom got for me on one of our many shopping sprees together, and a pair of heels that my Dad paid for 2 years back. =P I would like to share a little family anecdote with you below!

If you didn't know, Tristan and I chose Malaysia's most awarded wedding gallery for our pre-wedding photoshoot. Though we really loved the gowns/ outfits and pictures that the gallery produced, it was not easy heading in and out of Malaysia every couple of weeks to settle all the minute details.

Fortunately for us, our parents and buddies were very supportive (as always) and commuted with us over several months before we finally wrapped up the shoot in Kuala Lumpur. Thank God!

In those few months, our family drove in to Johor Bahru (JB) very often and had many a good meal and massage there. Now, for a little secret... all 3 of my siblings and I usually only have our cell phones with us when going out with our parents (who cares about the bill when Daddy's around, right? HAHAHAHAHA!)

With the photoshoot being our primary concern, I was not in the mood for much shopping (surprise surprise!). =X  However, during one of our family lunch trips, this pair of heels from Summit caught my eye from the sales rack for only around SGD20+!

I fell in love. <3 It's double bows and pointy heels drove me crazy! Where's my wallet when I need it??? =O

Heeding my baby sister's advice, I turned towards our most reliable ATM aka our darlingest (Yes, there is such a word in my dictionary) Daddy for 'financial aid'. =P  At the start, both him and Mommy maintained that I have too many pairs of shoes and they refused to encourage me further. *horrors*  I DON'T have too many pairs of shoes. There is a PERFECT pair of shoes for EVERY outfit. Agreed?

I stubbornly refused to give up and urged them towards the Summit boutique. Guess what?? When we reached there, my mother, the one who said I have too many pairs of shoes started pointing at several other pairs of shoes (not on sale) that she wanted ME to try on and buy! *smacks forehead* WHAT happened to "You have too many pairs of shoes!"???

I LOVE MY PARENTS! =D

And NO, I only got that 1 pair of shoes that day. I might be obsessed but I'm NOT greedy, excuse me. =P

Top - No brand (old)(last seen here)
Shorts - ZARA (current)(similar for less here)
Bag - Coach Court Bag in Mahogany (found here)
Shoes - Summit (old)(similar here)

**Alterations**
Zara shorts - waist taken in and length shorted by 1 fold.
Coach Court bag - Long strap removed. Strap of Coach Basic bag (last seen here) in the same colour used.
 >> I removed the thicker strap of the Court bag and swapped it for the thinner strap of the Basic bag because I wanted a softer and more girly look for the Court bag today. I cannot wait to use the original strap in an outfit post soon! =D

Thank you for reading my long winded post! Keep safe and stay happy! XOXO!!! <3
