:: Lines :: A light cotton waistcoat

In humid and sweltering hot Singapore, layering is always so difficult for someone who loves comfort as much as I do. My good friends JK and Cerella totally hit the nail on the head when they told me that "Comfort equals confidence" when it comes to me! =P Since young, I get frustrated and it shows on my face when I start sweating or have on prickly clothes. I would rather have on a comfortable cotton tee than a pretty dress that is thick and uncomfortable any day!

Thank goodness for cotton waistcoats such as this striped one I had on today! I felt so comfy and at ease the entire time I was wearing this outfit. As usual, it went through a little alteration before becoming a piece that I see myself keeping for years to come. Q and I came across this cotton waistcoat at a pasar malam (night market) near my home and picked it up for SGD10. It was an absolute steal! I was so elated that I found it so cheap and exactly the thing that I was looking for.

 However, the waistcoat had 2 droopy pockets that I felt made the piece look frumpy and cheap. My trusted tailor removed it according to my request and I fell in love with it all over again. =)

You might have noticed that I am so addicted to this pair of heeled Zara sandals. I find myself reaching for it over and over again. It seems to go with everything. I definitely need more sandals in this style! ^ -  ^*

Top - Zara
Waistcoat - No brand (Alteration: pockets removed)
Shorts - Blu via F.O.S
Purse - Chloe Paraty
Heels - Zara
Lips - Guerlain Fleur de Feu

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you stay comfortable in this heat! XOXO!!

p.s. I am thinking of learning how to use a sewing machine and buying one! What are your thoughts on this? Do let me know!

YES! Get a sewing machine. :) It's a great investment. :) I'm dying to get an industrial one (Juki), but home sewing is good for beginners. Look into possibly getting a Bernina home sewing machine. They are pricy (around $1500 USD), but they are the "Rolex" of home sewing machines! LOL. They basically require little to no maintenance. Or if you want something a little more affordable, a Janome one is great. :) Also, if you're able to get one with an actual bobbin case (vs. a drop in bobbin), that would be better! I hope you get one, you'll have so much fun!

Hi Sharon! Thanks for dropping by! I'm seriously considering a sewing machine after viewing both Khatu's and your blogs. =) I'm looking at something really basic though.. Something for me to learn on before committing to a $$ buy! =P
